Swim Skills Class Descriptions & Level

SWIM LESSONS are available for all levels. We teach the fundamentals of swimming and safety skills while on and near the water. Learn how much fun swimming safely and responsibly is at the beach, pool, lake, or river.

Guppy and Parent

A parent and tot class. Perfect for the little ones just starting in the water. Lessons cover water exploration, breath control, and safety skills. Learning swim skills early on can impact your child for years to come! this swim class helps to establish comfort in the water and it is also a great bonding time for parents and their children.

A Beginner

It all starts here…Our instructors are excited to teach you and your children to have fun and be safe while we splash, breathe, stroke, and jump in the pool. The child has not had any previous swim lessons; needs to learn or improve on the following; blowing bubbles, bobs, back float, front float, back glides, intro to elementary backstroke, intro to flutter kick, and jumping off the side of the pool to the instructor.

Beginner 1

Children in this level have had swim lessons and are already proficient in holding their breath and putting their faces in the water. Now, they begin to learn how to float and glide independently, fetch toys underwater, and perform basic strokes with the help of their instructor. In this stage, they grasp rhythmic breathing and explore the crawl (freestyle) stroke

Beginner 2

Your child will learn to be comfortable and gain confidence in floating, guiding, going underwater, and practicing the basic strokes to prepare them for the Beginner 3 class.

Pre-Fins

Get ready and perfect your strokes, underwater swimming, and floating - to advance into Fins, children must be able to float unassisted for up to five seconds, retrieve toys in four feet of water, and perform assisted back floats. Pre-Fins classes teach them how to float on their back without assistance, move independently from the front floating position to a back float position, and kick in streamline for 15 feet. Additionally, children further develop their freestyle stroke, backstroke, and endurance. To move to the Fins class, the child needs to be approved by your Instructor.

Fins

This class is for more advanced swimmers learning strokes. Held in the lap pool. Does require Instructor approval and a swim test. 45 min lessons.
